DRUMS READY- THE YOGA DAYS
All the drum tracks are now played and on the way to Karhula rock city´s SouthEastSounds studios hard-disk!
It was 4 days full of soundchecking, x-box soccer, pizzas and kebabs, conan schwartzenegger, some kind of monsters, winning, losing, yoga(=only jarmo), lager...and last and least some drumming too.
Sound Supreme studio and the lounge is really too nice place to be, so we hardly saw any Hämeenlinna fresh air on the outside during these days. Only the pizzahouse and the supermarket of the next block we´re interesting enough, but we decided that´s really enough about the sightseeing in Hämeenlinna for us. This was mainly due to the X-box and Pro Evolution Soccer 5. We, the old guys, maybe should buy some toys to our home so we wouldn´t be this addictive when some soccer games are in the same room with us. PES maybe saved the OG album and it gave us a nice change to shout it out loud and beat the sofa when the losing time came... :)
Harri also visited us on the studio, produced some drum fills to the wild-side and shot also some video documentary footage from the sessions, coming later. Our beloved pal Olli Lappalainen, the first singer of OG and the dude behind all the OG artworks ever, visited us also on the studio and we were having a nice time to relax and plan the artworx to this new album.
Jarmo had some red light fear on the studio. He played like "Remu" everytime when the recording was off, but had some psychic panic when the red light was on. We thought that we need that band psychiatrist from the "Some kind of Monster" Metallica documentary to help Jarmo here...
On the first day, when we were soundchecking the dude was on fire, we just "little bit experimented" the recording and already half of the album was done during this soundcheck. Next days when we were "really" recording, that red light panic mania occurred, but after a while it was solved with Jarmo´s Yoga activities and Karhu lager beer. Indeed almost all of the drum tracks used on the album have been recorded whether during the soundcheck or powered by large amounts of Karhu lager. But the stuff rocks, and of course it rocks then!
Tomorrow then is starting the search of the guitar sounds and bass sounds at Karhula...
Jarmo on the wildside.
Biggest musical influences of the 4th OG masterpiece!
Drum tracks are now ready an´ willing!
Drum tracks are not yet ready an´willing...The yoga man is here.
Jarmo getting some inspiration from his sick "rhythmic problems" -videos.

4th album sessions starting / Drum recording
Howdy folks!
Time has come for the 4th OG album recordings, as we´ve been more productive than ever and the new stuff have been written in a few months and this is really new way of acting for OG! Working title for the new album at the moment is "Red Shift Mystery"...
We´ve been also doing quite a lot of pre-production this time and this is also the new way for us... So, we´ll be afraid about what´s coming up with this next chapter - It might even become a good album!? The third new way of acting with this OG record is that the album will be done in three different studios; drums will be done at Sound Supreme studio, other recordings will be done at good ol´ local & loyal SouthEastSounds studio and mixing and mastering will be done in Örebro, Sweden at Unisound studio with the Dan the man Swanö! I already met mr. Swanö this weekend and had a "business-beer" with the man and everything seems really cool with this co-operation.
Today me (Markus) and Jarmo packed the drum gear and headed to Hämeenlinna, Finland to Sound Supreme Studios to record the drums with Janne Saksa, famous for produced the albums for example to Mokoma, Turisas, Rotten Sound, Amoral and last, but of course not the least but the biggest, for Total Devastation and Manitou!! ;)
So, far Jarmo and Janne have been doing the soundchecking and setting up a really large amount of mics around the drum kiosk. The sound is already good on the first rehearsal takes and there´s not much adjustment to do up to the top.
Easter rooster also visited the studio and laid some chocolate easter eggs to Janne to a hat on his mixing desk, so everything seems to be cool with on our true and evil easter metal breeding! Me and Jarmo have been already surrendered to our beloved studio-destiny and bought and ate some leverlåda a ka liver-box, famous finnish culinary delicacy...
We recorded some takes to five songs, working titles: "The Nail", "Black Goat", "Chameleon Skin", "Enska" & "Poppy". So, we´re on the good way!
Back to business now, and some more update from the studio soon. Over and out! -Markus
